I went to Paulo Coelho's blog and found an entry about Forgiving and Forgetting. My opinion is that not everybody can forgive and forget. There are people out there that do not know how to forgive and forget. Why? They are not used to it. They have all that anger inside that doesn't let them forgive and forget. These days we need people to stand up and show the world the importance of Forgiving and Forgetting. When you learn the importance of those things you will do it. When you do it you will feel much better, because you don't have all that anger building up inside. I will be glad to know your opinion about this entry.

forgiving and forgetting are both conscious decisions. Depending upon what the perceived wrong is, it often takes both time and effort. One way to move forward is to list what you are angry or hurt by. "I am mad at you because you did...." The next step is to take responsibility for how you are choosing to react. Add "because it made me feel..."
ReplyDeleteYou will be surprised that most of the time it is the how we chose to feel about an action, not the action itself, that carries the pain. Once you realize it is how you are feeling that causes the pain, then you are free to change how you want to feel about it.
Finally add to each comment the words "For this i choose to forgive you."
Most people will not take the time to do this because it is easier to remain mad and blame someone else for our feelings than to accept the fact that we are all free to choose how we feel at any given time.
